What does the player get at the beginning? Are there any restrictments – in other words, what weapon class will be inaccessible for sure at the beginning?

— At the startup the player will get a certain sum of money, depending on the difficulty level, which he can use to hire several freelancers and get some guns. Not all weapon classes will be open at the beginning, first there will be pistols and tommy-guns, then, as the player moves on, more and more powerful poppers will be available to him.

Will there be weapon failures? What’s the way to deal with them?

— Yes, there will be. The player is either to try shooting once again, or, should this not help, call for the mechanic.

Will the peculiarities of each weapon be kept? I.e., Ì16/4 series can’t stand … yet do just fine in…, while M60 is no good at…

— The peculiarities will be kept to certain extent, depending on the capabilities of the original JA2 game mechanics.

What will the damage taken depend on? The weapon, the bullet, the distance? How much does the distance affect the damage received? Can you deliver any damage if the distance exceeds the range, and how insufficient will it be?

— It depends firstly, on the weapon, then, on the distance, and, last but not least, on the bullet. It’s not the range that affects the damage level, it’s the distance your bullet overcomes before hitting a target. That is to say, if you fire a 27,34 yards shot, but miss and accidentally hit the target at 32,81 yards, it will be damaged slightly less than the closer one. The bullet travels as far as the landscape, initial velocity, gravitation and air resistance allow.

Diemaco C7
Diemaco C7

Caliber: 5.56×45 mm NATO
Weight: 8.60 pounds with magazine
Magazine: 30 cartridges

This assault rifle in fact is a slightly modified Colt Ì16À1Å1. Canadian weaponry DIEMACO has been licensed to produce it for Canadian air forces since 1984. C7 is an ideal fit for the famous Canadian saying: «Whatever Yankee does — Kanaka does better». Any freelancer’s dream.

Does the range depend on the bullet type? How far will HP and FMJ fired from the same barrel go?

— Well, it does depend, but the HP bullets have higher minute of angle, so it’s harder to hit a target at a great distance. The greater minute of angle may cause an under.

What bullet types will there be?

— Three types: standard, AP and HPs.

Will there be chargers as objects? Or will it be like Ja2?

— Like Ja2.

Will it be possible to charge one cartridge clip with different ammo?

— No.

Will it be possible to double magazines, will they have their own durability limit, can they get broken?

— No.

Calico M960
Calico M960

Caliber: 9×19 mm Luger/Para
Weight: 4.78 pounds unloaded
Shooting rate: 750 shots per minute
Magazine: 50 or 100 cartridges

An ideal means of solving problems the American way. The magazine capaciousness, shooting rate and the pistol cartridge are capable of assuring anyone you are the right side in this argument. Should this be not enough – just recharge and repeat your explanations.

If there is Ì249, what chargers will it require?

— There is one, with a 100-cartridge clip.

Will there be weapon subclasses with similar and logically different peculiar features and compatible attachments?

— Yes, and the attachments will be universally compatible..

Will there finally be introduced an attachable sword-bayonet?

— No.

Will there be bolt actions rifles? How early in the game will they appear?

— Yes, sniper rifles mostly. They’ll appear somewhat close to the middle of the game, perhaps, earlier.

Will sniper rifles be equipped with built-in scopes and bipods, or those will be removable attachments?

— Removable attachments.

FN F2000
FN F2000

Caliber: 5.56×45 mm NATO
Weight: 7.94 pounds empty, standard configuration
Magazine: 30 cartridges

A module system based on the F2000 assault rifle. Bull-pup polymer body. Modules available: 40mm under-barrel grenade cup discharge, computerized fire navigation module, laser designator - equipped forestock.

Will you be able to fold the weapons that have prototypes equipped with a fold-butt?

— No.

How will be the draw-up time calculated? What will affect it?

— More action points will be required to fire the first shot, than the following ones fired at the same target.

Will there be special ammo used for suppressor shooting? Will there be specific suppressors depending on caliber and gun model?

— No and no. There will be the universal suppressors.

Will there be any difference between the suppressor and the silencer/muffler, if there is one?

— No.

FN FNC
FN FNC
Caliber: 5.56×45 mm NATO
Weight (empty magazine): 8.95 pounds
Magazine: 30 cartridges
Shooting rate: 650 shots per minute
Effective range: 1 476.38 feet

Quite a reliable and handy gun with good battle characteristics… for the 80’s of the last century. Won’t yield to its analogs in main features.

Will there be alternative attachments?

— Yes. You can’t use both the pillars and the under-barrel grenade cup discharge.

How many types of daytime optics will there be in the game, will it be specific for certain models? Will there be nightscope, collimator sight, laser sight?

— There will be one optics type and there will be laser sight. Perhaps, there will be collimating optics as well.

How many under-barrel grenade cup discharge types will there be? What will they differ in? What ammo will be available for them? Will there be a MasterKey?

— There will be one under-barrel grenade cup discharge type. Ammo just like in the original JA2. No MasterKey.

Will it be possible to fire a machine gun when standing or seated, from the thigh-high position, or in motion? In what way will the shooting results differ?

— You can shoot standing, sitting, prone. The higher position you take, the harder it is to hit the target. It’s a bit complicated to shoot in motion in a step-by-step game.

HK G11
HK G11

Caliber: 4.7×33 mm, linerless cartridge.
Weight: 7.94 pounds unloaded
Shooting rate: 2000 shots per minute
Magazine: 45 cartridges

Don’t get scared by the futuristic view of this unique assault rifle – its capabilities are a lot scarier…The first three bullets hit the target BEFORE you can even feel the recoil, leaving the Kevlar accurately pierced (given there was any Kevlar on the target)…

Will the enemy react to the shooting, fly-by bullets?

— Of course. If he’s got action points, he’ll lie prone or take your turn and run away.

Will it be possible to move with a gun up? Will there be a tactical flashlight?

— No, no flashlight.

In what way will the spotter-assisted shooting be presented?

— The target will be visible on the screen (grayed). You can shoot at it, with an accuracy penalty, of course.

How is the amount of AP per volley calculated?

— Firmly established.

Áóäåò ëè ïåðåãðåâ, ìîæíî ëè áóäåò ñìåíèòü ñòâîë è òàê ðåøèòü ýòó ïðîáëåìó?

— No.

M14
M14

Caliber: 7.62mm NATO (7.62×51)
Weight (loaded): 11.24 pounds
Magazine: 20 cartridges
Shooting rate: 700-750 shots per minute

This rifle is classics. Ì14 is full of advantages and drawbacks, but all-in-all it’s a rather lightweight precise rifle with great effective range and destructive cartridge. Surely it’s no good in the jungle because of its length, but how often do you have to go down into the greens? Volley shooting is not recommended, for precision in that case leaves to desire a lot (a great lot more, in fact), so this turns into wasting ammo, which weighs a lot, so you can’t really carry such a great supply of extras… But all-in-all, it’s a great rifle.

Can you only fix your weapons when not in mission, or in as well?

— When not in mission.

How will be the damage calculated when the armour is (not) pierced? Does the helmet protect the front side only, or the whole head? Will there be something analogous to our “Sphere”?

— When armour is pierced, given the armour-piercer was used, it’s full damage, if it was the HP bullet, the damage is almost always taken to the minimum. The helmet protects the whole head. There will be the same types that were used in the original JA2: steel, Kevlar, “Spectra”.

Will you have to cock the grenades? Will they differ in usage and action from the original JA2 version?

— No.
